      As a two year old Brittlyn Stables' homebred Clearly a Test  became the first black-type stakes winner for Louisiana stallion Clearly Now   in capturing the $75,000 Donovan L. Ferguson Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots on the track's opening day of its winter/spring meet, Nov. 17. Next month she was 2nd in the Louisiana Champions Day Lassie Stakes.Fourth most recently in the Louisiana Broodmare Of The Year Lipstick Junky Stakes (Black Type), she crossed the wire first in the Crescent City Oaks but tired and interfered with a rival and was placed 2nd. She is trained by Shane Wilson.

    • Clearly Now Filly Lights Up At OBS

      Thursday was the final day of the Ocala Breeders Sales March Two-Year-Old in training sale. Hip number 812 was an unnamed filly by Clearly Now out of the Indian Charlie dam, Vicola. Having worked a quarter mile in 21.0 (only three horses being sold that day clocked a faster time) the filly attracted the interest of John Dowd acting on behalf of Little Red Feather Racing and was hammered down at $125,000. Little Red Feather Racing has previously raced multiple Grade I Stakes winners including Breeder Cup Mile winner Singletary. The filly had previously sold for $60,000 at the Texas Thoroughbred Association Yearling Sale last August.

      Clearly Now is a millionaire Graded Stakes winner standing at Clear Creek Stud for a fee of $2,000 payable September 1st and is the sire of Stakes winners Clearly A Test and I See Clearly Now.       2 year old BONS TEMPS ROULE was away last and slow to get rolling but gradually gained ground outside and dueled down the stretch to win by a head - racing 1 1/16 on the turf at the Fair Grounds. He is owned and trained by  Louie J. Roussel III and was bred by  Raintree Farm Racing, LLC, Jerry G Henery & Roy R Bourgeois Jr.

      The 33rd Louisiana Champions Day was a sunny pleasant day but the Stars were shining brightly on the day. Star Guitar had three individual winners of the nine stakes races for the day. The Louisiana Champions Day Classic was first on Star’s agenda when Touchuponastar led from start to finish while being shadowed throughout the race by Tumbarumba. Touchuponastar was a repeat winner having captured last year’s Classic. Bred by the Coteau Grove Farms of Ginger and Keith Myers, Touchuponastar is owned by Set-Hut Stable (Jake Delhomme) and trained by Jeff Delhomme. His win in the Classic set his record at ten wins (seven stakes races) from thirteen starts with two stakes placings, including a second the Grade III Steve Sexton Mile and earnings of $618,100.       Two year old CLEARLY A TEST hit the gate at the start and was 9th and mid-pack early but made his way around the field and got up for the win AND to break his maiden by 1 1/2 lengths in the 5 1/2 furlong Donovan L. Ferguson Memorial Stakes at the Fair Grounds. He is a homebred for Brittlyn, Inc. and is trained by Shane Wilson.

He won his 3rd race, a trial for the Rich Market at Energy Downs 307 Horse Racing in Wyoming. Today he ran a gaining 2nd in the Rich Market Derby at Energy Downs.
